Freebie Frenzy Blog Hop!

I'm linking up today with my blogging pals from Fifth Grade Freebies for a Back to School Freebie Frenzy Blog Hop!  Hop along to grab some great freebies and enter to win a $50 TPT gift card!

I'm sharing something I just created for my classroom library this summer!  Since I've started doing the 40 Book Challenge, my students have been more conscientious about trying the different genres, and I realized I needed to label my books accordingly.  I already have my library labeled and organized according to DRA level, and it really didn't take me that long to label my books that way. So, I found some brightly colored labels and assigned (for the most part) two genres per color.  Then I created color coded genre posters and hung them in our library.

Realistic fiction and mystery are orange.  Historical fiction and science fiction are yellow.

Nonfiction and Biography/Autobiography are green.  Fantasy is red, Poetry is pink, and Traditional Literature (not pictured) is blue.

I did manage to get some of my books labeled before school started.  I'm just putting the genre label directly above the DRA color coded label.  My plan is for my kids (and my mom!) to help me finish this project this year!

You can grab my Genre Posters (Color Coded) at my TPT Store for free but hurry!  They are only free during this blog hop!  If you download them, I'd really appreciate your feedback!

Make sure you snag all the other great freebies and enter the giveaway below!
